I've never had a side-car, but still I have "been there, thought that".... Many times it was my co-riders significant others.... "We are riding too many miles!", "Isn't there a better restaurant?", "the truck stop bathroom was filthy", "It is too hot, cold, rainy, or sunny", "the road was too bumpy", "this town is boring", "the music is too loud", "I do not like your riding buddies", "you are riding way too fast!', "this or that last motel was really bad", while "I have no intention of ever helping with making reservations or pre-ride planning".......

And yet, Mary and I have been married for 47-years and counting!
