That Went Flat, Quick!

Well, bam, bam, bam, bam - flat tire. From 70 MPH to zero and 40 PSI to 0 in all of 10 seconds. The baming musta' been the bolt (or whatever it was) before it flew out.

Had a buddy ready to come out with his air tank from maybe 35 miles away if I could plug it, but my largest road side plugs fell right through the hole! Had to leave it on the side of the road in East Bum Fuck Egypt, find a ride home (another friend), then backtrack to retrieve it in my trailer.

Could have been a lot worse, a real lot worse.

Friend had a lag bolt violate his rear during shenanigans at Bike week 2025. The plug popped out when his tire was filled. Second attempt we only brought the pressure up to 32 psi and he monitored while we rode to the dealer. Stopped once to refill when it dropped to 20 psi. Took back roads.

Glad it was uneventful in a good way.

I think I'm going to change my strategy some.

Probably look for a portable air compressor/jumper package and get some old school rope plugs to go along with the new style screw in plugs to put in my saddlebag toolkit.

I'm not sold on storing a jumper box only, especially after seeing some folks on social media smoke their BCM's and left side controls on these new generation Touring bikes trying to jump them, but I'll be damned even if I'd have put a 1/2" bolt with rubber cement in that hole I couldn't air it up out in bum fuck Egypt.

I put the pre-chrome wheel rim and tire back on this evening. TPS isn't gonna' work, but I'm not gonna' pay to flash it just to put the new wheel/tire back on after I replace the "holy" tire. It was very handy I had the OEM wheel/tire combo sitting here.

@L2Lump, as already mentioned, that could of turned out differently! To add "icing to the cake", I think you just put that rear tire on your bike?
